Congratulations to Carmel Blaney who has been promoted to the position of General Manager in Nazareth House Care Village, Ravenhill Road, Belfast.
Carmel Blaney has been recognised by her peers as one of the outstanding Home Managers in recent years, and has been working in healthcare for over 20 years.
Carmel supports Nazareth House Care Village to achieve its objectives by developing and implementing Care and Management strategies that contribute to the development of a high-performance culture. Carmel ensures that the Home has the talented, skilled and engaged people it needs and creates a positive employment relationship between management and employees in a climate of mutual trust. Carmel is very respectful of her teams and encourages the application of an ethical approach to people management.
Carmel is an inspirational leader and one who is willing to adopt and trial new working practices that promote safe, effective and compassionate person-centred care. Carmel has implemented a number of new care strategies in relation to the ‘Management of Dysphagia’, ‘Palliative Care’ and has shared this vision with her teams. Because Carmel is highly respected her teams work collaboratively with her and support the implementation of new care practices in the best interest of her residents.
Carmel has also completed the ‘My Home Life’ course at the University of Ulster during 2022, and has introduced the learning from this course to improve resident care.
